Kid's Arctic Art Incentive

We did it! It's official! Kid's Arctic Art Incentive is officially a certified non-profit!
I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive. You're encouragement has made this incentive possible!

We are a non-profit volunteer run program who's sole purpose is to support and encourage fine arts while affording opportunities of creative initiative, education and self-expression in the youth of Canada's north.

Wildlife Mural - Salmon Conservation Port Coquitlam

The 4th and final "Winter Wall" has begun at the Hyde Creek Education Center & Hatchery. Seen here is the 3rd Mural. "Spring" depicting the indigenous plants, animals, fish, birds and bugs of BC's west coast salmon bearing creeks of Port Coquitlam. The 'Spring Wall' showcases coyote, bobcats, beaver,a variety of species of local birds, fish, bugs, flowering spring trees and plants.

The Hatchery uses the murals as educational tools for children's field trips, groups, tours and new volunteers.

I have posted the link below to schedule a tour with one of this societies dedicated volunteers to see the paintings and learn about salmon conservation in British Columbia.

The 2010 Olympics in Vancouver have come and gone to our fair city!

What a week! Our humble city has hosted one of the best Olympics in the history of Canada! Never have I seen such support and pride for our country!

The night after the Olympic's opening ceremonies in Vancouver, took the dog for a run, and to my surprise, I could see the cauldron from theseawall!

Gold for Canada! The olympic rings changed to gold each night we won a gold medal! Well worth the bike ride at 11:30 pm to catch the gold!

The eve of the final night, we ventured down the street to visit the Olympic flame that graced our Vancouver waterfront.

After our epic Olympic hockey game win for the gold medal, the Vancouver crowds poured into the streets to share in the celebration!

The crush of celebrators was an amazing, never seen before support of our atheletes and our country! Canada knows how to celebrate!

Wildlife Murals by Kim Hunter - Hyde Creek Port Coquitlam BC

Hyde Creek Watershed Society commissions the second of 4 large Murals. The first was "Autumn" - local landscape, wildlife and salmon cycle exterior 50 x 10 ft. oil painting by Vancouver Artist / Designer Kim Hunter for The Hyde Creek Education Center & Hatchery in Port Coquitlam, BC Click Here for details. The second of 4 exterior full wall murals "Summer" 40 x 10 ft. is now finished Sept. 09. The final walls are to be completed this spring / summer.
